Hey everyone! It’s nearing August which means it’s nearly time for ARC August! ARC August is hosted by our friends over at Read.Sleep.Repeat and it’s a month-long challenge dedicated to reading our ARCs. You can learn all about it over on the Sign Up Post.

I am really sick of having such a shitty reading year and more than anything, I want August to be this amazing month that reignites my love of reading. So reading some of my most anticipated reads is important to me. I want nothing more than to be swept up into a bunch of different worlds. I’m gonna focus on frontlist titles because I am so horribly behind, I want to catch up at least a little. So the books that I hope to get through are August through November releases.

Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney C. Stevens. I am always ready for a new Courtney book. Super stoked for this one.

The Secret History of Us by Jessi Kirby. Same with Jessi’s books. I am hugely excited for this one.

The Rattled Bones by S. M. Parker. I have not read her debut, but I do have it. This cover is SUPER creepy though and I’m always up for creepiness.

The Girl With the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke. I have a feeling this book will be one of those hidden gems that I will talk about for the rest of my life.

Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller. Fantasy is hit or miss for me (usually a miss) but the premise of this one looks super promising.

This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis. I will always make time for a new Mindy thriller. Plus, I didn’t read it in July like I planned to.

The Hanging Girl by Eileen Cook. Yesss, another thriller from an author who wrote one of my favorite books of last year.

Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore. This is a rollover from last month. I started it and did not finish it. It started off so gloriously though and I cannot wait to keep reading.

Even the Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. This one looks really intriguing and I am hoping this book meets my expectations and maybe even makes me like fantasy a bit more?

  1. You’ve got a lot of great titles here! I’m also planning on reading Mask of Shadows during ARC August. I haven’t really been in the mood for fantasy lately, but I’m really looking forward to reading a fantasy book that has a genderfluid protagonist. I can’t wait for Dress Codes for Small Towns and Wild Beauty to release because both books look amazing and I want to read them! 🙂 Good luck tackling your ARCs during ARC August!

    • It takes a LOT for me to be excited about a fantasy book, but I’m SUPER stoked about a genderfluid main character. So I had to put this one on my list.
