This Is How it Happened
Us by Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen. I read the first book, Him, on a whim on the last day of August and immediately dove into the second. I love Jamie and Wes sooo much and I just want one thousand books about them.
The Girl With the Red Balloon by Katherina Locke. I also started this in August but it’s really sad and I had to take a detour into some romance so I could survive it. I absolutely love it so far though and I’m sure it will get 5 stars.
Fireblood by Elly Blake. Ahhhhhhh. I read the first book a few months ago and I AM DYING to get my hands on this sequel. I cannot wait. I am freaking out.
The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. I’ve been eyeing this series since the cover changes debuted and it’s finally time. I have the whole series checked out from the library and I’m pumped to get caught up in this fantasy world.
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. IT’S HAPPENING. I’m about halfway through and ready to finally finish. Ah.
Invictus by Ryan Graudin. I am such a sucker for time travel stories (oddly enough Outlander bored me) so when I saw this book, I knew I wanted to read it. Very, very excited for this book.
27 Hours by Tristina Wright. I am really, really picky about my science fiction books, but I wanted to read this one because it’s diverse and looks to have a really great f/f romance in it. Science fiction books are rarely diverse, so I’m cautiously optimistic that this one will blow me away.
Never Apart by Romily Bernard. Parallel universe + mystery/thriller? Yes please. I am so intrigued by this book and I cannot wait to see if my expectations for it are met.
Bad Girls With Perfect Faces. Oh my goddd, I cannot wait to dive in. Lynn Weingarten’s previous book, Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls was so good and I am so stoked to have a e-ARC of her newest release. Plus I know Bekka loved it, so that’s another massive pro.
A Poison Dark and Drowning by Jessica Cluess. I wanted to read this one last moth, but I never got to it, so this one is a rollover. I was so in love with the first book in this series and I cannot wait to see what’s next for these characters.
What was your favorite book this month? What are you looking forward to reading in September?
