Falling in Love With Fantasy

It’s no secret that fantasy books aren’t really my thing. I usually turn towards contemporary, science fiction or even horror books before fantasy books. But over the past 2 or so months, something has changed and I’ve found myself really into the fantasy genre. I’ve even given some fantasy books higher praise than contemporaries lately. It’s a weird shift that I wasn’t expecting and I also don’t know how long it will last.

Like most bloggers, I do have a significant backlog of review books, and some of them are fantasy books that caught my eye despite fantasy not being a genre I normally turn to. Because I haven’t been in the mood for fantasy, these books have gone by the wayside even though I was so excited about them when I first requested them. I kinda want to do a full month of just fantasy books, but I also don’t want to burn out on them because so many more are coming out in 2018.

These seven are my highest priority in the fantasy genre. I have 1 book that comes out next year that I would like to get to, but I’m not feeling the pressure on that one as much as I am feeling the pressure on these. Especially the first three.

I really don’t want to lose my newfound enjoyment of fantasy novels so I need your help. Especially if you are a big fantasy fan. Where should I start? Which of these books pulled you in and took you on a ride? And if you DNFed any of these books, I’d love to know why. I don’t want to spend time on a book if I’m not going to enjoy it.
