Hi friends. Before I get into the normal bookish stuff, I just wanted to do a quick real life update. Our dear Alexia is in this hospital. Alexia is my co-blogger, but she’s so much more than that. She’s a best friend and she’s been a figurative shoulder to cry on and a cheerleader for me. She could really use some love and support right now. You can read on Twitter her updates and let her know we’re cheering for her from all the corners of the internet.
book of the month
Bumped by Megan McCafferty
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds
Blood and Sand by C.V. Wyk
The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes
I have an extremely ambitious TBR for this month. I really want to hit 75 books read this year, but at the same time I also want to commit to reading longer books this month. It’s a mess. This whole TBR is confused and doesn’t know what it wants to be, but we’re gonna roll with it.
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
I’ve been making my way through my 5-star prediction titles and this is next on my list. So far I’ve had one DNF and one 5-star rating. Let us hope this falls into the latter category.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
I’m currently reading ACOTAR (and I am officially acotrash don’t @ me) and I am so addicted to it. I know I’m going to want to continue to stay in this world once I finish, so obviously ACOMAF had to go on this list.
Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
I recently purchased this because it had been calling out to me for a while. The cover screams winter to me, and the story has been calling my name for quite some time now.
Furyborn by Claire Legrand
I’m about 1/3 of the way through this and I just need to finish it already. It’s been weeks and weeks. I love it so much so it’s TIME.
The Wife Between us by Greer Hendricks
I haven’t read a good thriller for a while, so I’m ready to get my mind blown. I hope this has all the twists and turns the blurb promises.
Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh
I am sooo excited to get an early copy of this. SO EXCITED. I wanted to read it immediately but I’m in the middle of another book right now. BUT SOON.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
My best friend and I are doing a buddy read of this over Christmas and I can’t wait to have my heart torn to pieces.
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this one and the cover is just so beautiful. I started it and I am so, so intrigued by the story. I can’t wait to get lost in this dark fairy tale.
Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake
This feels vaguely Nordic and Viking-ish and that’s my whole aesthetic if you didn’t know.
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi
This has been CaLLING MY NAME. Do you ever get into situations like that? Like you can no longer ignore this book because it is actually screaming at you to pick it up? Because that’s how I feel about this. I just know I’m going to love it and I need to read it right now.
How was your November? What books are you looking to read before the end of the year?
