September Book Haul

Hi guys! Well I woefully underestimated the craziness that September was going to bring us. From our car being stolen and the frantic search to find a new car to me being in the hospital for a few days. We’ve been busy people.

As I am writing this, we have finally decided on a new (used) car. It had to have a big enough trunk for my wheelchair & it had to be easy enough for me to get into. We are very excited to stop paying for our rental car, which is really hard for me to get into.

I was in the hospital for a few days because I was being put on new heart medications and one of them has to be started while the patient is in the hospital. At first, they didn’t seem to work, and with one of them, my blood pressure kept taking a nosedive. So they had to put me under general anesthesia and shock my heart back into a normal rhythm. The medications have done a whole lot of good already and I’m hoping they keep working well.

I think this picture was taken the first night I was in the hospital.

Now, on to the super exciting news! We’re getting a new kitten! We’ve been looking for a Siamese kitten FOREVER and our neighbor’s sister just happened to find kittens on her land a few days after I got out of the hospital. We will be naming her Prentiss as an homage to our favorite TV show, Criminal Minds and holy crap we are SO EXCITED! She’ll be here by Monday I believe.

Isn’t she ADORABLE???

Book & reading-wise, I started September off so well, but given all the craziness this month, it all kinda went by the wayside. Hoping October is better.

  1. I am hoping the meds continue working as they should! I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it must have been trying to get into that rental car. We had Siamese kitties by the dozens growing up, although I suppose they are harder to find. I hope the new kitty brings lots of joy!

  2. Oh that sounds like a bit of an insane September. I’m sorry to hear about the car. And while your hospital stay was for a good reason, it still sucks. I hope your new meds will continue to do good work for you.
Yeay for the kitten. She looks so cute!
